Infiniti battery replacement in Khalifa City

We replace Infiniti batteries on site across Khalifa City, day and night, with free fitting and a check of the charging system. Owners should know that Infiniti uses Japanese battery sizes on most models, and that the newer turbo cars with idle stop need an EFB or AGM battery instead of the standard type.

What our technician does differently on a Infiniti

  • On G, FX, Q50 and QX70 models we remove the cowl cover properly and refit every clip, so no rattles or water leaks follow the job.
  • We reinitialise the one-touch windows and sunroof, which forget their end stops when power is cut.
  • The idle is relearned after fitting: we let the engine settle and check it holds steady with the AC on.
  • The current sensor on the negative cable is left undisturbed, and charging voltage is checked with lights and AC running.

Signs your Infiniti battery is failing

  • The Intelligent Key is not recognised at the first press and the start button needs a second try.
  • The engine turns over lazily after the car has stood in the sun, then starts normally later in the day.
  • The red battery lamp, or the VDC and slip lights, come on briefly right after starting.
  • The power tailgate stops halfway, or the clock and trip computer reset themselves.

What battery a Infiniti takes

Infiniti's V6 and V8 models, among them the QX80, QX70, older QX60 and the G and FX lines, use conventional maintenance-free batteries in Japanese case sizes. On the Q50, Q60, Q70, G and FX the battery sits under a plastic cover at the back of the engine bay, close to the windscreen. Models with idle stop, such as the 2.0 turbo Q50, the VC-Turbo QX50 and QX55 and the latest QX60, need EFB or AGM. A current sensor on the negative cable lets the car vary alternator output.

Common Infiniti battery sizes

Most Infinitis take JIS sizes: 80D23L, the same footprint as BCI group 35, on the saloons and the QX70, and 80D26L or larger on the QX60, QX56 and QX80. The Mercedes-based Q30 and the 2.0 turbo Q50 use European DIN batteries. We verify against the label on the old battery or the VIN, as terminal position matters on these tight trays.

Technician's note on Infiniti batteries

Infiniti V6 engines give little warning. They crank fine until the day they do not, usually after the car has heat-soaked in a car park. If the battery is past two years and the afternoon crank sounds slower than the morning one, have it tested that week.

Infiniti owners in Khalifa City

QX80s in Khalifa City often sit on a sunny driveway all week while a smaller car does the commute, then get called on for a Friday family trip to Al Ain down the E22. A big SUV driven once a week never gets fully charged, so test its battery before summer.

Infiniti battery questions

What battery does an Infiniti QX80 use?

Typically a JIS 80D26L or 95D31L of 70-90 Ah, depending on year and tray. We confirm from the label on your old battery or the VIN. The V8 needs a high CCA rating, so we do not downsize.

Where is the battery in an Infiniti Q50 or G?

At the back of the engine bay under a plastic cowl cover near the windscreen. The cover has to come off to reach it, which adds a few minutes. We refit all the clips so it seals as before.

Does my Infiniti need an AGM battery?

Only if it has idle stop, as on the 2.0 turbo Q50, the VC-Turbo QX50 and QX55, and the newest QX60. Those need EFB or AGM. V6 and V8 models without idle stop run well on a quality maintenance-free battery.

Will I lose my settings when the battery is changed?

No, we keep the car powered with a memory keeper while the battery is out. Radio, seat and clock settings stay as they were. If a window loses its auto function, we reset it before leaving.

Why does my Infiniti idle unevenly after a battery change?

Because the engine computer lost its learned idle settings when power was cut. It relearns within a few minutes of idling and a short drive. Our technician runs that relearn before handing the car back.
