Toyota battery replacement in Khalifa City
We replace Toyota batteries at your door anywhere in Khalifa City, 24 hours a day, usually within 20 to 35 minutes of your WhatsApp message or call. Most petrol Toyotas take a straightforward JIS battery that we carry on the van. If yours is a hybrid, the part that fails is the small 12V auxiliary battery, often in the boot, and not the big hybrid pack.

What battery a Toyota takes
Most Toyotas sold in the UAE run a conventional flooded, maintenance-free 12V battery under the bonnet, with no coding needed after a swap. Hybrids such as the Camry Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid and Prius use a small AGM auxiliary battery, usually in the boot or rear load area, with a vent tube that has to be refitted. Diesel Land Cruisers often carry two batteries wired together. Newer models with start-stop need an EFB or AGM battery, and a plain flooded one does not last in them.
Common Toyota battery sizes
Toyota uses Japanese JIS sizes: 34B19L or 46B24L on the Yaris, 55D23L on the Camry and RAV4, 80D26L on the Prado, Fortuner and Hilux, and up to 105D31L on Land Cruisers and diesels. The letter at the end tells you which side the positive post sits on, so an L and an R are not interchangeable. We confirm the exact code from the old battery's label or the VIN before we set off.
Toyota battery fitment by model
Typical batteries for the Toyota models we see most in Abu Dhabi. The exact one is confirmed from the label on your old battery or from the VIN before the technician sets off.
| Model | Typical battery | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Toyota Land Cruiser | Typically 80D26L or 105D31L flooded, 70 to 90 Ah | Diesel versions carry two batteries that should be replaced as a pair. |
| Toyota Land Cruiser Prado | Typically 80D26L flooded, about 70 Ah | Sits at the front of the engine bay with clear access, so the swap takes about 15 minutes. |
| Toyota Camry | Typically 55D23L flooded, about 60 Ah | On the Camry Hybrid the 12V auxiliary battery is in the boot, behind the side trim. |
| Toyota Corolla | Typically 46B24L or 55D23L flooded, 45 to 60 Ah | Tray and post size changed between generations, so we read the old label before loading the van. |
| Toyota Hilux | Typically 80D26L flooded, about 70 Ah | Diesel trucks take a larger 31-size battery, and work trucks usually need their terminals cleaned. |
| Toyota Fortuner | Typically 80D26L flooded, about 70 Ah | Shares its engine bay layout with the Hilux, so access is easy. |
| Toyota Yaris | Typically 34B19L or 46B24L flooded, 35 to 45 Ah | A small battery with thin JIS posts on many years, so the terminal size has to match. |

What our technician does differently on a Toyota
- We plug in a memory saver before disconnecting, so the radio presets, clock and one-touch windows stay as you left them.
- On hybrids we refit the vent tube on the auxiliary battery, because it sits inside the cabin space and has to breathe to the outside.
- Land Cruisers and Hiluxes that tow or go off-road often have loose hold-down clamps and white crust on the terminals, which we clean and tighten.
- On diesel models with two batteries we test both, since one weak battery drags the healthy one down within months.
Signs your Toyota battery is failing
- A hybrid that lights the dashboard but will not go to READY nearly always has a flat 12V auxiliary battery.
- A Land Cruiser or Prado cranks slowly on the first start after a weekend parked in the sun.
- A Yaris or Corolla gives a single click and dims its dash lights after a run of short trips.
- Interior lights and the infotainment screen flicker while the starter is turning.
Technician's note on Toyota batteries
Toyota charging systems are simple and tough, so a Toyota battery that dies at two to three years in Abu Dhabi has usually been cooked by heat, not killed by a fault. Do not let anyone fit a small B24 battery in a tray built for a D26, because it shakes loose and fails early. On hybrids, never jump start another car from the auxiliary battery.

Toyota owners in Khalifa City
Half the villa driveways in Khalifa City have a Land Cruiser or Prado sitting in full sun, and the ones used only for weekend desert trips with a fridge and compressor plugged in are the ones we get called to on Sunday night. If the car sits all week, a 30-minute drive on the E22 does more for the battery than ten school runs.

Toyota battery questions
How long does a Toyota battery last in Abu Dhabi?
About 2 to 3 years is normal for a Toyota battery in Abu Dhabi. Heat is what ends it, and cars parked outdoors in Khalifa City all summer sit at the shorter end of that range. A free test tells you where yours stands.
Which battery brand do you fit on a Toyota?
We usually fit Amaron or Panasonic on Toyotas, with Solite and Energizer as alternatives. All come in the JIS sizes Toyota uses, with a warranty of upto 24 months. We quote the full price on WhatsApp before we set off.
My Toyota hybrid will not go to READY. Is the hybrid battery dead?
Almost never. The usual cause is the small 12V auxiliary battery, which wakes the hybrid system up, and replacing it is a normal on-site battery change. We test it first and only replace it if it fails.
Does a Toyota need coding after a battery change?
No, most Toyotas need no coding or registration after a new battery. We keep the car's memory alive during the swap and reset the auto windows if they forget their limits. Newer start-stop models simply need the correct EFB or AGM type.
Can you change a Land Cruiser battery at my villa at night?
Yes, we come to villa driveways in Khalifa City at any hour, public holidays included. The technician brings the battery, works with his own lighting and takes the old one away for recycling. Delivery and fitting are free.
