Land Rover battery replacement in Khalifa City
Land Rover and Range Rover battery replacement is carried out at your door in Khalifa City, 24 hours a day, with AGM batteries and a battery management system reset included. Two things catch owners out. Many models have a second, smaller auxiliary battery for start-stop, and the car has to be told that a new battery has been fitted or the low battery warning keeps coming back.

What battery a Land Rover takes
Every current Land Rover uses a large AGM main battery, watched by a battery monitoring module on the negative terminal. On the full-size Range Rover and Range Rover Sport from 2013 onwards the batteries are under the boot floor; on the Discovery 4, LR4 and the earlier Sport they are under covers at the back of the engine bay. Start-stop models add a small auxiliary AGM battery that keeps the electronics alive while the engine restarts, and newer mild hybrids add a 48V system that we leave alone. These cars stay electrically awake for a while after locking, so they tolerate sitting less well than most.
Common Land Rover battery sizes
The usual main battery is an H8 AGM of 90 to 95 Ah, with an H7 AGM of about 80 Ah on the Evoque, Discovery Sport and Freelander 2, and an H9 of about 105 Ah on some V8s. The auxiliary battery, where fitted, is a much smaller AGM unit. We match the Ah and CCA on the old label or decode the VIN, since the car's charging settings assume the original rating.
Technician's note on Land Rover batteries
On a Land Rover, low voltage looks like ten different faults. Before anyone quotes you for suspension or gearbox repairs after a hard start, get the battery load-tested, because we regularly see alarming dashboards cured by a new AGM battery and a reset. If the car is going to sit for more than two weeks, a smart charger connected the way the handbook shows is the right answer.

Land Rover battery fitment by model
Typical batteries for the Land Rover models we see most in Abu Dhabi. The exact one is confirmed from the label on your old battery or from the VIN before the technician sets off.
| Model | Typical battery | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Land Rover Range Rover Sport | Typically H8 AGM, 90 to 95 Ah | On the 2014-on generation the batteries are under the boot floor; earlier cars have them under the bonnet. |
| Land Rover Range Rover | Typically H8 or H9 AGM, 95 to 105 Ah | Rear-mounted on recent generations, with a separate auxiliary battery on start-stop cars. |
| Land Rover Defender | Typically H8 AGM, about 95 Ah, on the new shape | Classic Defenders are different, with the battery in a box under a front seat. |
| Land Rover Range Rover Evoque | Typically H7 AGM, about 80 Ah | Many have a small second battery for start-stop that we test separately. |
| Land Rover Range Rover Velar | Typically H8 AGM, 90 to 95 Ah | Start-stop stays off until the BMS reset has been done. |
| Land Rover Discovery 4 | Typically H8 AGM, 90 to 95 Ah | Main and auxiliary batteries are under covers at the back of the engine bay. |
| Land Rover Discovery Sport | Typically H7 AGM, about 80 Ah | Under the bonnet, with the monitoring module on the negative clamp. |
What our technician does differently on a Land Rover
- We reset the battery management system with a diagnostic tool after fitting, so the low battery message clears and start-stop returns.
- Main and auxiliary batteries are tested separately, and we tell you which one has failed instead of selling both.
- Jump starts are done through the designated terminals and body earth point, as Land Rover specifies, to protect the monitoring module.
- A backup supply keeps the air suspension, seat memory and infotainment from logging faults while the battery is out.
Signs your Land Rover battery is failing
- Low Battery, Please Start Engine appears on the touchscreen within minutes of sitting with the ignition on.
- Start-stop is permanently unavailable, often with the auxiliary battery to blame.
- A string of unrelated warnings shows at start-up, such as suspension, hill descent or gearbox faults, and they vanish once voltage is healthy.
- The car is completely dead after two or three weeks unused, even though the battery is not old.
Land Rover owners in Khalifa City
Range Rovers in the compounds around Al Forsan often sit for the whole of July and August while the family is abroad, and a month of alarm, tracker and keyless standby is enough to flatten even a good battery. Tell us before you travel and we can test it, or message us when you land at Zayed International and we will meet you at the villa.

Land Rover battery questions
Why does my Range Rover keep saying Low Battery, Please Start Engine?
Because the car has measured a low state of charge, or it has not been told that a new battery was fitted. An ageing battery, a failed auxiliary battery and a missing BMS reset all produce the same message. We test both batteries and carry out the reset on site.
Does a Land Rover need a BMS reset after a new battery?
Yes, any model with a battery monitoring module does, which covers most cars from about 2010 onwards. The reset tells the car the battery is new so it charges it fully and re-enables start-stop. We do it with a diagnostic tool before we leave.
Does my Land Rover have two batteries?
Many start-stop models do: a large main battery and a small auxiliary one. The auxiliary battery supports the electronics during engine restarts and often fails first. Send us the model and year and we will tell you what yours has.
How long does a Range Rover battery last in Abu Dhabi?
About 2 to 3 years, and less if the car sits unused for long periods. These cars draw more standby power than most, so regular driving matters as much as the heat. A battery that has been fully flat several times rarely recovers.
Which battery do you fit on Land Rover, and what is the warranty?
We fit AGM batteries from Varta, Exide or Bosch in the original size and rating. They come with a warranty of upto 24 months, and delivery, fitting and the BMS reset are done at your door. The full price is confirmed on WhatsApp before we set off.
