Who makes Tudor batteries
- Flooded
- EFB
- AGM
Tudor takes its name from Henri Tudor, the Luxembourg engineer who built some of the first practical lead-acid batteries in the 1880s. The brand has long been a household name in Spain and Portugal and today belongs to Exide Technologies. Tudor batteries are made in Exide's European plants and mirror the Exide line-up.
What Tudor does well
- Same manufacturer and technology as Exide.
- Well suited to the small DIN cases used in French and Italian cars.
- Full ladder from basic flooded to AGM.
- A useful second source for the same battery when the Exide version is out of stock.
Worth knowing before you choose
- Hardly anyone in the UAE knows the name, which can make owners wary.
- Availability is patchier than the mainstream brands, and some sizes need ordering.
Tudor battery range
| Range | Type | Best for |

| Tudor Technica | Flooded (maintenance-free) | Everyday cars without start-stop that need a standard replacement. |
| Tudor High-Tech | Flooded (maintenance-free, higher output) | Diesels and well-equipped cars that benefit from more cranking power and faster recharging. |
| Tudor Start-Stop EFB | EFB | Renault, Peugeot and Fiat models with start-stop and small turbo engines. |
| Tudor Start-Stop AGM | AGM | Volkswagen and Ford models with start-stop and energy recovery. |
Tudor in Abu Dhabi heat
Tudor's flooded batteries are sealed calcium types, so they do not need topping up even after a summer parked on the street. French and Italian small cars often tuck the battery tight against the engine under a cover, where it runs hot in traffic. That is one reason these cars seldom see a battery last much past the local 2 to 3 year norm.
Choose Tudor if
- You drive a Renault, Peugeot or Fiat and want a European-made battery.
- You were going to buy Exide and the size you need is in Tudor.
- You care more about who built the battery than about the label.
Look at another brand if
- You want a name a future buyer will recognise. Bosch does that job.
- You would like an Italian battery in an Italian car. That is Fiamm.
Cars we fit Tudor to
Tudor matches Renault models such as the Duster, Koleos and Megane, Peugeot's 208, 2008, 3008 and 5008, and the Fiat 500. It also covers Volkswagen and Ford in the common DIN sizes. Start-stop versions of all of these need the EFB or AGM line, which we establish from the old battery.
Our verdict on Tudor
Tudor is Exide by another name and deserves the same trust. Choose it freely for French and Italian cars when the size is available.
What Khalifa City drivers say on Google
Reviews from customers of our mobile battery teams in and around Khalifa City.
Khalid A.Nissan Patrol, Khalifa City3 weeks agoThe Patrol would only click on the morning of the school run. I sent my location on WhatsApp and the technician was at the villa in about half an hour. He tested the old battery first, showed me the reading, then changed it in the driveway.
Sarah M.Kia Sportage, Al Raha Gardensa month agoCame back from three weeks away to a completely dead car. I assumed I needed a new battery, but the technician tested it and said it only needed a jump start and a proper drive. I appreciated not being sold something I did not need.
Arjun P.Toyota Camry, Al Rayyana2 weeks agoMy Camry was down in the basement at Al Rayyana and I was not sure anyone would come to the bay. The technician left his van in a visitor space and carried the battery and tools down to me. Paid by card and the old battery went with him.
Tudor battery questions
Is Tudor the same as Exide?
In practice, yes. Tudor belongs to Exide Technologies and its batteries are made in the same European plants to the same designs, with each Tudor line matching an Exide one. The difference is the label and the markets each name is sold in.
Why is Tudor so little known in the UAE?
Its home markets are Spain and Portugal, where it is a household name. Elsewhere Exide Technologies mostly sells under the Exide brand, so Tudor turns up less often here. The battery inside is no different for that.
Does a Tudor Start-Stop AGM need registering on a Volkswagen?
Yes, on Volkswagens with battery energy management the new battery should be adapted to the car, whatever its brand. This tells the car the capacity and type and that the battery is new. The technician does it with a diagnostic tool after fitting.
Which Tudor battery suits a Peugeot 3008?
A 3008 with start-stop needs an EFB or AGM battery, depending on what it was built with. Versions without start-stop can take the High-Tech. The label on the old battery or the VIN gives the exact size.
Tudor or Fiamm for a Fiat 500?
Both work if the type is right. Each makes the small DIN size the 500 uses, in flooded and start-stop versions. We fit whichever is available in the correct type, and either comes with a warranty of upto 24 months.
