Camel battery questions
Is Camel a good quality battery?
Yes, it is a mainstream product from one of China's largest battery makers, not an unknown label. It supplies car factories as well as the replacement market. Its record in the Gulf is shorter than that of Korean or German brands, which is the honest caveat.
Which battery does an MG ZS or MG HS take?
Most take a mid-size DIN battery, flooded on versions without start-stop and EFB or AGM on those with it. Engine and model year change the details. We confirm against the old battery's label or the VIN before setting off.
Can Camel replace the 12V battery in a BYD?
Only if your BYD has a lead-acid 12V battery. Many newer BYD models use a small lithium iron phosphate 12V battery, and that needs the correct lithium part. Send us the model and year and we will tell you which you have.
Do Chinese cars with start-stop need a special battery?
Yes, the same rule applies as on any other car. Start-stop needs EFB or AGM, and fitting a standard flooded battery leads to early failure and a start-stop system that switches itself off. Match what the car was built with.
Will fitting a Camel battery affect my new car's warranty?
A battery of the correct size, type and capacity should not normally cause a warranty problem, but the terms are set by your dealer. If the car is still under warranty, check your service booklet or ask the dealer first. We always fit the same size, type and capacity the car was built with.
